41st Anniversary Sinhalese and Tamil New Year Celebrations 2017

 

Dear members and friends,

SLCAO will host its 41st Anniversary SinhalaTamil New Year celebrations on the22nd of April 2017. This is the biggest event of SLCAO calendar in terms of historical significance as well as showcasing the rich and, the diverse cultural heritage of Sri Lankans. This event is a product of many hours of effort and planning by over a hundred of volunteers.

New Year Celebration event is exclusively financed by ticket sales, sponsors, and well-wishers. Therefore, we kindly urge you to extend your support as a volunteer, as a sponsor or as an indirect supporter by reserving the evening of the 22nd of April to facilitate the premier Sri Lankan Canadian community event in Ottawa.

Ticket prices and contact information of community partners to purchase the tickets will be notified in the coming weeks.

Event details are as follows:
Date:           Saturday, April 22nd, 2017
Location:     Hellenic Reception Center, 1315 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa
Time:           6:00 pm – 1:00 am

This year’s event will feature:
* Many Sri Lankan Cultural performances
* Raffle Draw
* Buffet dinner
* DJ Music
* More items to be lined up

Keeping up with the traditions of the past years, we will include a number of cultural and dance items in the event to promote the culture and the talents of the community.

Dance items will be restricted to group performances due to time constraints and to create opportunities for a larger number of participants.

We would like to kindly invite performers or parents of performers, who would like to participate in the Sinhala & Tamil New Year celebrations’ cultural program, to fill in the form on or before the 6th of March.
