SLCAO held an inaugural special Unity Vesak\/Poson\u00a0Dansala event on May 29th at the Trolley Station in\u00a0beautiful Britannia Park.\u00a0The threat of rain didn’t keep the crowds away and this\u00a0special event was well\u00a0attended by over 150 attendees\u00a0from all over Ottawa.<\/p>\n Representation of the\u00a0clergy came from all three\u00a0major temples in Ottawa\u00a0and from the church.\u00a0The program consisted of a religious remarks from the\u00a0Bhante’s in attendance, Bhakthi Gee (Devotional\u00a0songs) from the Ottawa Theravada Buddhist Vihara in\u00a0Orleans and the Hilda Jayawardenarama\u00a0on Heron Rd\u00a0and Ottawa Buddhist Temple, Attendees enjoyed a wonderful Dansala lunch provided by many generous volunteers from the community. \nChristie St. as well as a lovely\u00a0dance performance to\u00a0\u201cDhanno Buddhunge\u201d with\u00a0the assistance from community members. Along with \u00a0the Bhakthi Gee, there was a Vesak Lantern display with\u00a0the help of all three temples and the Ottawa High Commission.<\/p>\n
