Invitation to be part of the Sinhalese Heritage Day Contribution/Service to Canada Presentation 

We have extended the deadline to 20th March 2019!

We are seeking individuals with Sinhalese heritage that has contributed to the well being of Canada for the purposes of Celebrating Sinhalese Heritage Day in Parliament on the 27 of April 2019. While the contributions may vary, they must have enriched the lives of others and made a difference to Canada. We are looking out for Sinhalese individuals with :

1.     peer-reviewed international publications in any subject or
2.     individuals with registered patents in Canada or
3.     individuals who have been recognized by any Canadian Institutions in any city or province (private, government or NGO) for their contributions.

If you met the above requirements or If you know (or think of) anyone who meets with the above requirements, irrespective of the province or town, please forward this email and have them respond to this email. We need via email, a recent CV and a completed PowerPoint slide (the template slide is attached in the link below)  on or before 20th March 2019, 4pm  to The completed slide will be part of an auto-rotating slides screen and each slide will be displayed for 30 seconds in each rotation on the large center screen in the Sir John A Macdonald Ceremonial Hall inside the Parliament of Canada, between 2pm-5pm on April the 27th. This is not a competition for achievements. Therefore we will publish all PowerPoint slides received that meets the above criteria on the day of the event.  

Since it is cumbersome to go thru each and everyone’s CV and extract details, we kindly ask you to review the sample template below and fill it in and send with the information you think is relevant to be displayed on the event.

PowerPoint slide template link:   This email will be also sent to known Alumnae Associations in Canada. If you know of anyone in these Associations or an individual who will fit the above criteria please forward this email ASAP.   

In addition, steps are being taken to work on a more long- term project with a 3 member Editorial team from Toronto comprising academically recognized and accomplished Sri Lankans to compile a book containing research articles and other contributions of research scientists of Sri Lankan origin called “Scientific Research Papers were written by Canadian Scientists of Sri Lankan Origin: 2019 Publication” More details of this project will be available soon.
